On Saturday, May 28th, the PASC U11 Girls Vipers traveled to Harrisburg, PA to participate in the 34th Annual HMMS Memorial Day tournament.
The Vipers accepted a spot to play in the U12 bracket, because the U11 bracket was full. Going into the tournament, the girls knew that the combination of playing up and the season’s first “heat wave” would make this a challenging day.
The Vipers came out striking at their opponents! Against a strong Fusion FC Thunder, the girls worked hard to control the ball and a defensive battle ensued. Neither team could find the back of the net and the game ended in a 0-0 tie. The second opponent was Spring Grove Blast. The Vipers played an aggressive defense to win the ball and used possession attack to create numerous goal scoring opportunities. The Vipers won the game 7-2 to secure a spot in the finals.
In the finals, the Vipers met a well-rested Elizabethtown United Rage that entered the game expecting victory. But from the tap the Vipers dominated the game with high pressure defense and an organized attack built on ball control, heads up play, accurate passing and well-timed finishing. The Viper wore down Elizabethtown with a 3-0 victory to capture the U12 Championship!
We are so proud of this special group of young ladies and the opportunity to see their hard work and commitment translate into success on the soccer field. They have met every challenge the Coaches have put in front of them all year. We look forward to continuing this journey with the team next year at 2004 (U13) and expect even more success in the future.
GREAT JOB this past weekend and all year ladies!!!
